I want all fathers to be able to experience what the Adventure Guides program has done for me." Denny serves on the McCleskey-East Cobb Board of Managers and chairs the Financial Development Committee which raised more than $89,000 for the Partner With Youth annual campaign this year. Denny and his wife, Mary Ellen, live in Acworth. Their daughter, Erin, is a college freshman. The YMCA of the USA makes up the largest non-profit community service organization in America. In 1858, just seven years after the YMCA came to this country from England, the first Y opened in Atlanta. Caught in the middle of the Civil War, the Y disappeared in 1864, but was reorganized in 1873, and has since been in continuous operation. The McCleskey-East Cobb Family YMCA Branch built its existing facility in 1989. We now serve over 42,796 program and facility members, employ more than 500 people, and work with over 200 volunteers each year. We offer a variety of programs that include youth sports, childcare, performing and fine arts, health and fitness programs to list just a few. Character Development - We accomplish our mission through programs that develop character by teaching and demonstrating the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. McCleskey-East Cobb Membership - McCleskey-East Cobb membership allows use of all facility amenities along with priority program registration and reduced program rates. Metro-wide Membership - McCleskey-East Cobb members have access to all the facilities and programs offered in the metro Atlanta area. Program Memberships - You may participate in selected programs without the facility amenities. Program memberships are available on an annual basis.
Your YMCA, reflecting its Judeo-Christian heritage, is an association of volunteers, members and staff, open to and serving all, providing programs and services which develop spirit, mind, and body. Financial assistance is available based on need. The YMCA actively seeks to identify and involve those in need. |
